You know that surprise you get when you're really not expecting something to be awesome, but you go ahead and give it a try -- only to discover that it is about a hundred times better than you could have imagined? That's NEUROTICALLY YOURS. It has been a long time since I've encountered a chick lit book that is so well-written that it restores my faith in indie publishing. When I come across a book that is populated with three-dimensional characters, it's like watching the sun break through the clouds after a storm.Best of all, it was not predictable. What seemed like it would be an easy read turned out to actually come across with characters that I cared about and genuinely liked.
Needless to see, I'm going to be ordering WEDLOCKED right away.

Smart, witty, alluring characters make for one ideal story with just enough humor, romance, heart-wrenching drama to wet the appetite...delightful! While it is not a "love it first sight" romance, it does have that intensity that slowly eases into the passion; it's more amusing if anything. I would definitely recommend it to those romantic comedy readers!
Bonnie is an incredible author that has the ability to make her readers never want to put her book down. I her second novel, she brings not only humor to the novel, but enables the reader to think what will happen next. As Dara is up the creek without a paddle, she manages to get out of her own challenges. This book is a must read. from 1-5 5 being the highest rating I will give this rating a 5. If I could rate Bonnie more it would be 1000 plus!! A must read!!
Just like Wedlocked, I loved this book and read it in one day!
I like a story that isn't too sappy, yet still has the makings of a good love story.
Enjoyed all the characters in this book, and the ending was sweet (but not too sappy)lol.
"Neurotically Yours" is a comical and entertaining story filled with colorful characters. Though Dara had me laughing left and right, I'll admit I didn't connect with her during the first half of the book because she was so abrasive. As the story went on, I became increasingly frustrated with her, but then again the book IS called "Neurotically Yours". Dara's friend, Reggie, was my favorite character, and he said it best when he gently informed her she was her own worst enemy. Reggie was always her voice of reason, and I loved him for that. In the last portion of the story, I began to warm up to Dara. And her beau, Nick? I approve! ) I think my favorite thing about this plotline is that it involved older characters, which is always refreshing. Oh, and the writing is excellent. Pick this one up if you're looking for a funny, satisfying read.
I really liked this story, it was cute, funny, and ended happily ever after. There was very good character descriptions and development. Even the pet cat played a major role in the story. It was an enjoyable light read and I would recommend this book and look forward to reading this author again.
I'm not a chick lit fan, but I enjoy good romance. As the author of Empowered I liked Neurotically Yours mainly because it didn't have the frenetic, overdone characters and plot lines of many in the genre. No luscious lips on page two, no heavy kissing and panting on page four, no ... Instead the story had characters who felt "real" with real problems to solve, friends and family to rely on, normal arguments, moments of loss and sorrow ... I hope I'm not making the book sound dull, because it is anything but. It's a well written story that holds the reader's interest. I wanted to know what would happen to the characters because I cared about them. And yes, it had the "right" ending. If there is a flaw (and it's a minor one) it would be the references to designer clothes and shoes. We didn't need those bits to know how our heroine would dress. All in all a fun read so pick up a copy and enjoy. I give it 5 stars in it's genre.
Neurotically Yours was my first Bonnie Trachtenberg book, and now I am a fan for life! I chose this book as my beach read--a selection I covet--and was not disappointed! I actually found myself unable to put it down and sneaking around the beach house with my so my husband wouldn't yell at me, lol. If you are looking for a sweet romance with a side of funny, this book is for you. I NEVER laugh out loud while I read, but this book did it--the scene where they are in the deposition and the main character's gay friend/business partner starts reciting Martin Luther Kind Jr.'s freedom speech, while the leading man/love interest starts unbuttoning his pants. (You'll just have to read it for yourself!) In one word, this book was, simply, Fabulous!
